About the University
Royal Birmingham Conservatoire was formed as the Birmingham School of Music in 1859. It became Birmingham Conservatoire in 1989 and took its current name in 2017, the same period in which it moved into its current purpose-built building. It is a faculty of Birmingham City University and one of a small number of conservatoires in the UK.
Location
The conservatoire is based in a dedicated modern building in Birmingham city centre, which also operates as a public concert venue.
What Students Can Study
Royal Birmingham Conservatoire specialises in music and acting, offering undergraduate and postgraduate courses across classical and jazz performance, composition, and drama. Specific course content, structure, and entry requirements (which typically include an audition) should be checked directly with the conservatoire.
Why Students Consider This University
