How Admissions Works
1. Register and Tell Us Your Background
Start by registering with StudyUKToday through our secure Apply Online form, not email or WhatsApp attachments. Tell us your qualifications, the subject you’re interested in, and your intended study level (Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD, or Pre-Sessional English). Registering doesn’t commit you to anything; it’s how we give you an honest, specific assessment rather than generic information.
2. Course and University Selection
Based on your actual qualifications and goals, we help you shortlist realistic courses and universities. See our Course Selection and University Matching pages for how this works.
3. Document Collection, Through the Portal
Once you’re registered, you’ll have access to a secure student portal for uploading your documents, not a request to send passport scans and personal data over WhatsApp or email. See our Document Checklist for exactly what’s needed at your study level; our Document Review service checks everything before it’s submitted anywhere.
4. Application Submission
We prepare and submit your application, through UCAS for standard undergraduate courses, or directly to the university for most postgraduate courses — see our UCAS vs direct application page for what that difference means for you. See our University Application Support page for the full process.
5. Offer
Universities typically respond with a conditional or unconditional offer. Our Offer Acceptance & CAS Guidance service helps you understand exactly what your offer means and what’s needed to confirm it.
6. CAS and Visa
Once you accept an offer and meet any conditions, your university issues a CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies), which you’ll need for your Student visa application. Visa applications themselves are submitted through the UK government’s own official process. See our UK Student Visa Guide for what that involves; we don’t handle visa applications directly.
7. Enrolment
You arrive, register with your university, and start your course.
Academic Requirements, By Study Level
Requirements are set by each university and course individually. Our UK University Admission Requirements page covers the academic and English entry bar in more detail, level by level.
- Bachelor’s: a secondary school qualification broadly equivalent to A-Levels, and (for most applicants) English proficiency evidence. See our Undergraduate Admissions page for the full detail.
- Master’s: a relevant bachelor’s degree, academic transcripts, English proficiency evidence, a CV, and a reference letter. See our Postgraduate Admissions page.
- PhD: a relevant Master’s degree, academic transcripts, and a Research Proposal specific to what you intend to study. See our PhD & Research Admissions page.
- Pre-Sessional / English Language courses: the lightest entry bar, since the course itself builds the English and academic skills needed for further study.
Exact requirements are set by each university and course individually. See your country’s own page for how your specific qualification is assessed.
What StudyUKToday Doesn’t Do
To be direct about the boundaries of our service: we don’t submit visa applications, arrange accommodation, or provide airport pickup. These are genuinely useful things to plan for, but they’re not services we offer, and we won’t claim otherwise. See our UK Student Visa Guide and UK Student Accommodation Guide for honest, informational coverage of both.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I start an application?
Register through our Apply Online form. We’ll never ask you to send passport copies or personal documents over WhatsApp or email. Everything goes through your secure student portal.
Is there a fee for using StudyUKToday?
Applying to a university through StudyUKToday does not have an application fee — we’re paid by the university once you enrol, not by you. Our Assisted (£79) and Premium (£249) services are optional paid support services you never need to buy. University tuition fees, living costs, visa fees and other university or government charges are separate.
What if I don’t meet a course’s direct-entry requirements?
We’ll tell you honestly, and suggest realistic alternatives, including a Foundation Programme or Pre-Sessional English course where that’s the right route in.
Do you handle my visa application?
No. Visa applications are submitted through the UK government’s own official process. We help you get to the point where you have everything a visa application needs (a confirmed offer, a CAS, and your documents in order), and point you to authoritative guidance from there.
What is a Pre-Sessional English course?
A short English language course, run by or on behalf of a university, taken before your main degree begins — for students whose academic qualifications are strong enough for their course but whose English evidence isn’t quite at the required level yet. Our English Language Programmes page explains how they work, how long they run for, and how they connect to your application.
