About the University
The University of Reading was founded in 1892 as an extension college of Christ Church, Oxford, becoming University College, Reading in 1902. It received its royal charter in 1926, the only university to do so between the two World Wars.

The university’s main Whiteknights Campus is a large parkland site in Reading, Berkshire, with a further London Road Campus closer to the town centre.
