About the University
Liverpool Hope University grew out of three teacher training colleges, the earliest of which, Saint Katharine’s College, was established in 1844. The three colleges merged over subsequent decades and the university adopted its current name in 2005. It is noted as an ecumenical institution, combining Anglican and Catholic founding traditions.
