Most pages answering this question are published by organisations selling one particular course. This one is not. Below is what the routes actually are, including the ones we cannot place you on.
Business degrees rarely have subject-specific entry requirements. There is no equivalent of “you must have Chemistry A-Level for pharmacy”. What universities want to see is that you can cope with degree-level study and write at that standard.
That is why business is one of the subjects where relevant work experience is most often accepted in place of formal qualifications. If you have worked in retail, hospitality, logistics, care or an office role — supervising people, handling budgets, dealing with customers or suppliers — that is directly relevant, and admissions teams recognise it as such.
One extra year at the front of a business degree, taught at the university, covering academic writing, research and business fundamentals.
Suits you if you want one continuous course and would rather not apply twice.
A one-year college qualification designed for adults, usually in Business or Social Sciences, used to apply to university afterwards.
Suits you if you want a recognised qualification in hand before committing to a degree.

Worth knowing: strongest where you can show responsibility, not just length of service.
A business BTEC, HNC or HND is already a recognised entry qualification in its own right.

For general Business Management, no more than everyday numeracy. You will meet basic finance and statistics, and courses teach them from the beginning.
For Accounting & Finance, yes — meaningfully more. If numbers are the part you are worried about, that distinction matters when choosing.
Student Finance England decides whether you can be funded. We cannot, and neither can any admissions service.
It depends on your residency and immigration status, whether you have studied at university before, and whether the course and provider are designated for funding. Previous higher education study — including courses you started and did not finish — is the factor that most often reduces entitlement unexpectedly.

Business degrees attract people who want a qualification for its own sake, and admissions teams are alert to that. So are we.
If your reason for studying is that you want to move into management, change sector, or formalise experience you already have, that is a strong position and worth saying plainly in your application. Courses are looking for people who intend to finish.
